Getting started
Readout connects to your Odoo, keeps a clean and automatically-refreshed warehouse of your sales data, and turns it into a sales assistant: who each rep should call, what those accounts are not buying yet, and a priced quote when they say yes — with the reporting your whole team can read from one place underneath it.
The short version
- Create your workspace. Sign up and you land in a workspace (your organization). Everyone you invite shares its data and reports.
- Subscribe. Reporting is on the Pro plan and there is no free trial — the workspace stays locked until it is active. See Billing.
- Connect your Odoo. Add your Odoo URL, database, username, and a read-only API key, then run the built-in connection test. See Connect your Odoo.
- Sync & sell. Readout pulls your sales into an isolated warehouse and keeps it fresh on a schedule. An owner or admin lands on the Overview; everyone else lands on Customers, and the saved reports are a tab along. See Reports & analytics.
What you get
- Customers — where a member or viewer lands. Search any account and see its history, what businesses like it buy that it does not, what it has quietly stopped reordering, and its notes — kept version by version here, so a line that vanishes from Odoo’s notes field is still readable.
- Locations — the same accounts a level down. Every other report rolls a dealer’s branches into one row so the account counts once; this is the one screen that takes them apart, so you can ask whether one branch is missing something its sister branch sells well.
- Sales calendar and call sheets — plan a rep’s week, and at six each morning they get an email with the day: who they are seeing, what those accounts buy, and what is on promotion for them.
- The other three emails — a daily check-in on five of a rep’s own accounts that have gone quiet, a sales and invoice summary at the end of each day, and a POS summary on the first of the month. See Reports & analytics for the schedule and who receives each.
- Promotions — set one up once, and every rep can pull the list of exactly which of their own customers to ring about it.
- Quotes — one screen: name the customer, type or paste model numbers, and get a customer-ready quote sheet priced from your own Odoo pricelists, as .xlsx or PDF, with an optional draft quotation pushed back into Odoo. The price book is prefilled from whichever of your companies last sold to that customer.
- Saved reports — your revenue grouped by any dimension (brand, trade, region, channel), with Excel (.xlsx) export.
- Ask — on the AI add-on: type a question the way you would say it and get a report over the same numbers as the Reports tab, with the reading of your question shown above the figures so you can check it was understood. See Billing for what the add-on costs.
- Overview — invoiced revenue, returns, month-to-date and year-to-date with a year-over-year comparison, a monthly trend, and your top customers, products and companies. First in the nav, and where an owner or admin lands: it is the read of the whole business rather than of a rep’s day, so members and viewers do not see it.
- Product mapping — setup rather than a report: map products and customers into brands, trades and regions once and every report reflects it. In the workspace menu, top right.
How your data is kept
Each workspace gets a physically separate, encrypted warehouse — your data is never mingled with any other customer’s. Readout reads Odoo through a connection that is read-only by default; it writes back only when you press the button, in two places — pushing a customer note and creating a draft quotation.
